I apologize for this interruption, but I need to talk about Chapters 8 and 9.

I took them down.

I struggled through both. Chapter 9 more than 8.

In the end I decided I wasn't happy with the way Chapter 9 was going. See, my impatience got the better of me. I wanted to get the story moving already, get Dominick out of the Palace and on the road. Get him together with his group of companions and introduce a new group of characters.

So, first, I tried breaking up things a bit by adding some stuff in there about the woman, Jade, who stole the sword. Her motivation and inevitable betrayal. That was Chapter 8. I still like it, and still plan on using it, but not quite yet.

So after that, I tried jumping ahead. When last we saw Dominick he had been in the Palace and Captain Ovati was challenging his claim. We get the bit with Jade, then the next Chapter Dominick is in the grasslands with a new group of characters. How did he get there? What happened back at the Palace? I thought I could, though a series of flashbacks, show what happened while Dominick finds adventure out in the wild.

Other authors do it all the time, and I love the device.

I, however, didn't do it all that well.

So, I scrapped it. Bam! It's gone.

Then, last night on the way to Job #2, I had an idea on how to move forward. So that's what I'm going to to do.

However, in order for this new plan to work, I needed to go back and tack on a thousand more words to Chapter 7, which is what I've done.

So that will be Part 30 which you can read by clicking HERE.

That's all. As you were. Thank you for reading!
